Scott graduated with a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2011. He joined TotalEnergies as a graduate and held several different Drilling Engineering roles until 2021.
He then joined Helmerich & Payne as a Principal Drilling Engineer before becoming the Well Engineering Manager at the beginning of 2023. In the same year, he became the first Chairman of the new IADC Geothermal Committee.
