Martina Tuschl

Director of Geothermal Energy Sector, Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency

Martina Tuschl has been intensively involved in the development of geothermal projects in Croatia for the past five years.
She began her professional career in 2000 at the drilling services company CROSCO and continued her career in 2004 at INA Ltd. as Reservoir Development Engineer. From 2009 she became Head of Business Unit for Supervision of International Projects Development and from 2010 to 2014 she was Head of Business Unit for Syria Projects.
In 2014, she joined the Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency as Director of Exploration. From 2018 to 2020 she was Director of the Exploration and Production Sector, and from 2021 she is Director of the Geothermal Sector.

As Director of the Geothermal Energy Sector in the Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency, she has been primarily involved in the assessment and promotion of the geothermal potential of the Republic of Croatia in recent years and is currently leading a project to explore the geothermal potential for district heating supply, funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and fully prepared and proposed by the Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency.

The Agency, which is the competent authority for geothermal projects in the Republic of Croatia, is working on the creation of a state legal framework for the further development, activation and exploitation of geothermal energy - from district heating to electricity generation and the development of agricultural geothermal projects.
