József Ribányi

Rapporteur, European Committee of the Regions

Mr Ribányi has been working as an architect since 1997, and founded his company "Ribányi József Kft.” in 2003. From 2006-2014 he served as the mayor of Tamási in Hungary. During his two terms as mayor, the geothermal district heating system was developed supplying the public institutions of the city. Between 2010 and 2012, Mr Ribányi held the position of vice president of the South Transdanubia Development Council. He has been a member of the Hungarian delegation of the Committee of the Regions since 2010, and has served as the Head of the Hungarian delegation for almost 9 years. Between 2012 and 2016, at the Association of Hungarian Municipalities, Mr Ribányi worked as vice-president. Between 2014 and 2019 he acted as the vice president of the Tolna County Council. Since 2019 Mr Ribányi is working full- time as an architect and designer, and is also a member of the Tolna County Council.
