Alexander Wallisch is working since 2001 in the field of district heating. He developed district heating, cold district heating and building specific heat pump projects in Vienna, Austria. He was responsible for developing district cooling in Vienna and is now using his knowledge for information transfer in public affairs for Wien Energie. Since 2020 he is spokesman for district heating in the Austrian association. Alexander is representing the Austrian district heating and gas association in the board of directors in Euro Heat and Power. Deep Geothermal energy is extremely important source for decarbonizing district heating in Vienna, in Austria and in Europe. Therefore it is absolutely necessary to remove existing barriers and to fasten up the project development for geothermal energy all across Europe.
